Our Story

By Shyanne the Label was founded in 2016 when Shyanne was living in Melbourne and studying at university. She could never find clothes with the perfect fit and on her student budget couldn’t afford the pieces she was after. She got her aunties 30 year old sewing machine, taught herself how to sew and started making her own clothes. From there, she would upload photos onto her IG as usual and all of a sudden friends started reaching out wanting to buy her clothes.

With fashion design never on the cards and a degree in podiatry already in the works it wasn’t until she found herself up until 3AM sewing instead of studying that she realised she wasn’t passionate for the career trajectory she was on.

At 19 and with no degree in fashion Shyanne jumped right into running her own business. But, you could say fashion is in her blood with most of the women in her family working in fashion.

Fast forward through years of hard work and now we are here!

 

Meet our team

Shyanne

As our ultimate girl boss Shyanne designs new collections, handmakes each garment and is involved in the day-to-day running of By Shyanne the Label. Her inspiration comes from her fabrics. Once she finds a fabric she falls in love with she instantly feels inspired to create something with it.

One piece of advice she would give to her customers/aspiring fashion designers is to believe in their work no matter how large or small your following is. If you have confidence in your work then others will too. She is also a strong believer in nothing happens overnight, so keep going and work damn hard for it.

Here at By Shyanne the Label Tessa is our Social Media and Content Creation guru. She is the face behind all of our social channels, produces any content you see on By Shyanne the Label, manages and coordinates shoot days and works on brand partnerships.
